Studies done at Tufts University of Boston and the University of Connecticut show tea to be great antioxidants. That means it neutralized the free radicals that cause cell changes and produce cancer.
So drink tea and know you are getting healthier . . . Green Tea is one of the highest in antioxidant properties, can be found in any grocery store or health food store traditionally served with Asian foods. Researchers at Purdue University in Indiana reported that a compound in green tea called EGCG inhibits the activity of an enzyme required for cancer cell growth, which explains why previous studies have found that people who drink four or more cups of green tea daily run a lower than average risk of cancer.
Teas alone should never be used as a total healing process and is far more effective as a preventative measure or used in conjunction with herbs as a treatment modality.
Teas are usually recommended for milder forms of problems or in conjunction with other herbs. More severe problems call for Tincture of herbs, which is the stronger!
Pre-nineteenth century hot herbal tea was the chosen morning drink but that went by the wayside when coffee came upon the scene and tea is not now drunk in too many societies on a daily basis, which is sad.

*OLD HOME REMEDY
This tea has been passed down for hundreds of years and has been given several names of which I will not try to name. Does not taste as good as it sounds but really works well.
Wash fruits well with disinfectant wash.
Into a blender put: (I have my trusty Vita Mixer that works extremely well) 2 medium or 1 large unpeeled orange, cutup
to blend faster.
1 unpeeled lemon, cut up in pieces.
5 cloves of peeled garlic.
two large tablespoons honey.
1 avocado
Add small amount of water to help with liquefication
Add a Tablespoon of good powdered Vitamin and mineral compound or 1 teaspoon of Life Transfusion ionic liquid minerals. (You might want to use your vitamin and/or mineral pills for this one as a way of getting rid of them since they usually are not absorbed when swallowed whole. Two or three pills pulverized by the blender)
Blend on high until liquefied. May be heated as a tea or add 1 cup of ice to blender to make a shake. Drink 6 ounces as a liquid drink or 8 ounces as a shake every two to three hours, until cold symptoms subside. If you have a sore scratchy throat hot is best!

* ECHINACEA TEA
A great antibiotic as well as immune system booster and helps you get over colds and flu faster or great for building the immune system to ward of colds and flu.
There are many good Echinacea teas in health food stores and much easier to make, but if you have your own Echinacea plants, use them, since fresh is always better!
*LOTUS ROOT TEA, found in most health food stores, is an Effective ANTIBIOTIC TEA for a COLD or FLU
I realize that only about 80% of people react the same to certain treatments whether it is tea, drugs, prescriptions, alcohol, etc. So use teas as a healing herb with that in mind.
