Entry #10
~ Big girls

AimeeMy babies are sleeping soundly upstairs while I carve some time to write about them. I guess they aren't "babies" any more. We took down the cribs two days ago and they have taken to their "big girl" beds without a hitch (yet!). They run, play, pretend, and talk so well now. They are definitely distinct from each other as far as personalities go. Daddy still gets them mixed up when he looks at them. I never could.

Aimee - My little fireball, a bundle of energy and enthusiasm from morning until night. She explores the world with delight and glee. She has to be part of everything. She wants to see how things work, why mommy puts stuff here, and is fearless as long as mom and dad are near. She's my sloppy kisser, my "little teapot," and my finger paint with ketchup kid.

Mandy - My soulful girl, inquisitive, patient, and loving. She hugs us when we are sad. She believes lovies and baby dolls are necessities. She explores with her sister, but is often the "victim" to her sister not sharing. She plays with books, sings to herself, and can slide down any slide without fear. She's my engineer, my crayon eater and my cuddle anytime girl.

.

The biggest girl - Kate

Kate is ready for preschool, has the "real" big girl bed (because it's bigger and on a frame), and is my mini-me. From being sensitive to the same medications as me to having a good tantrum on occasion, she is my shadow. She loves to cook with me, and pretend play. She could listen to a hundred books before bedtime if we let her. She loves to grocery shop, "sew" with me, and write on the computer. She's my princess, my helper, and my constant companion.

My life and heart are definitely full for my children. I cannot imagine missing a moment in their development. Being at home with them is the hardest, most demanding job I have ever had, it is also my greatest joy. I am truly blessed.
