More Cotton Knit Washcloths
These knit washcloths are a wonderful first project for a beginning knitter. Experienced knitters will find they can be worked very quickly for a relaxing evening project.
Materials:
- 100% cotton "kitchen" yarn - the examples were made using coordinating solid and changing color yarn
- Size 7 knitting needles
- Scissors and yarn needle
Directions:
For beginning knitters or those who need a refresher on knitting, please refer to our first cotton knit washcloth project of the month that has links to basic knitting stitches.
- Cast on 4 stitches
- Knit 2 rows
- Knit 2, yarn over, knit to end (this will give you an increase with a hole creating the interesting border to the washcloth)
- Repeat step 3 until you have 45 stitches on your needle
- Knit 1, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit to end
- Repeat step 5 until you have 5 stitches on your needle
- Knit 1, knit 2 together, knit 2 together
- Knit 1, knit 2 together
- Knit 2 together, tie off and weave in the loose end thread using a yarn needle.
Enjoy!
