The Funky No-Sew Fleece Purse
Looking for something casual, yet funky? Well this no-sew fleece purse is just the ticket! Go from scrap to fabulous in a mere hour to hour and a half.
What you'll need:
- 1/2 yd - 3/4 yd of fleece material of your choice
- Purse handles of any shape will work
- Ruler
- Scissors or Rotary Cutter
- Flat surface for cutting
- 3" Cardboard square
- 3" x 1/2" rectangular cardboard piece
What to do:
Cut (2) 16" x 18" pieces of fleece. The 16" side should be lengthwise, which will provide the least amount of stretch. If patterned, make sure patterns line up on both sides.
Place finished sides on the outsides, and prepare to cut.
Mark and cut 3" squares out of each corner.
Working left to right, measure 3" length x 1/2" width vertical lines and mark for cutting. Important: There should be an even number of fringes for top side.
Cut 1/2" fringe.
Tie knots on three sides, leaving the top for last.
After knotting the three sides, open top section and place purse handle on left side of fringe. Alternate fringe on either side of handle and tie first and second fringe together around handle, continue until all fringe have been tied. Repeat for second handle. (See diagram for clarification.)
 | Tie red fringe with white fringe around purse handle down the row. Repeat for other handle. |
That's it! As easy as can be, to go from plain to funky!
