Ring of Hearts Wall Hanging/Wreath
Thank you to StorkNet member Debbie (Licagita) for submitting this idea!
Materials:
- Embroidery hoop
- 1/4 yard fabric (I just used a set of fat quarters, which are usually used for quilting. I had quite a bit of fabric left over.)
- Thread
- Sewing machine or needle
- Fiberfill
- Hot glue gun with glue
Directions:
- Cut out heart shapes. You can make a pattern out of paper, pin it to the fabric, and trace it. You will need 16 heart shapes to make 8 stuffed hearts.
- With right sides facing, sew edges on sewing machine or by hand, leaving a small opening to turn and stuff. (See photos.)
- Turn the hearts, and stuff them with the fiberfill.
- After stuffing the hearts, sew together the small opening by hand. (See photo.)
- Glue stuffed hearts to the embroidery hoop with sides of hearts touching to cover the embroidery hoop. Be sure to center the first heart over the clamp as that will serve as the hanger.
Note: You could substitute the shapes to pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc. to accommodate a particular holiday or season.
