Christmas Ornament Exchange 2002
LACE COVERED POTPOURRI BALLS
Submitted by miche
Materials:
- Clear glass ball ornament
- Potpourri made up of small pieces (dried rose buds work well)
- Square, round or triangular scrap of lace large enough to cover ball with some to spare
- Thin wire
- Colored ribbon (example uses burgundy)
Directions:
- Remove the hanger from the glass ball and fill with potpourri.
- Replace hanger.
- Place bottom of glass ball in the middle of the lace and bring up lace evenly on all sides. Depending on the shape of the lace you can get a variety of different looks at the top of the ornament. Trim pieces as desired for a more clean look.
- Secure lace around the top of the glass ball with a few wraps of wire.
- Tie the ribbon into a bow around the wire.
- Tie a loop of the same ribbon through the hanger.
