Christmas Ornament Exchange 2002

LACE COVERED POTPOURRI BALLS
Submitted by miche

Potpourri Balls Materials:

  • Clear glass ball ornament
  • Potpourri made up of small pieces (dried rose buds work well)
  • Square, round or triangular scrap of lace large enough to cover ball with some to spare
  • Thin wire
  • Colored ribbon (example uses burgundy)

Directions:

  1. Remove the hanger from the glass ball and fill with potpourri.

  2. Replace hanger.

  3. Place bottom of glass ball in the middle of the lace and bring up lace evenly on all sides. Depending on the shape of the lace you can get a variety of different looks at the top of the ornament. Trim pieces as desired for a more clean look.

  4. Secure lace around the top of the glass ball with a few wraps of wire.

  5. Tie the ribbon into a bow around the wire.

  6. Tie a loop of the same ribbon through the hanger.
