Christmas Ornament Exchange 2002

GINGERBREAD BOYS & GIRLS

Gingerbread boys and girls

Materials:

  • Brown felt
  • White embroidery floss or yarn
  • Needle
  • Glue gun
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Decorations: Buttons, Ribbon, Lace, Ribbon flowers, Cloth scraps, fabric paint, etc.

Directions:

  1. Trace pattern onto the felt [or use your own pattern or large cookie cutters to make snowmen, stockings, etc.]

  2. Cut 2 pieces out of the brown felt

  3. Sew mouth on and any other features [eyes, etc. unless your using a glue gun and fabric paint]

  4. Layer felt, stuffing, felt and sew the front and back together with floss or yarn. You can also sew the 2 pieces together leaving an opening for stuffing, then finish sewing together if you wish a more stuffed piece.

  5. Decorate with buttons for eyes, fabric paint for mouths [unless you sewed one on], buttons and bow ties on front of boys, lace skirt and head ribbons or flowers for girls. Use whatever you like to personalize each one.
