Glorious One-Pot Meals
A New Quick & Healthy Approach to Dutch Oven Cooking
By Elizabeth Yarnell, MLS, CNC

What's so different about Elizabeth Yarnell's patented one-pot cooking method? According to the author, Glorious One-Pot Meals works by infusion cooking; that is, a process in which the ingredients are placed in a closed Dutch oven and heated rapidly in a high temperature oven, releasing the moisture from the vegetables and trapping the steam inside the pot, which in turn cooks the food and infuses it with flavor. Because the hot steam is trapped up against the food instead of evaporating, it cooks the food quickly and retains moisture. It's simple, yet it produces complex flavors and aromas and enhances ordinarily mild flavors." The beauty of this method is your entire meal - meat, veggies and grains/pasta/beans - is done at the same time. Each food retains its own flavor rather than melding into each other as often happens with crockpot cooking.

Each meal takes less than 20 minutes to prepare and around 45 to 60 minutes to bake depending on the number of servings. Forget to thaw your meat? No problem! You can use frozen meat with just a few adjustments.

The book is divided into three sections:

  • Hale & Hearty: "Robust, filling dishes sure to satisfy even the hungriest appetite"
  • Hot & Spicy: "Exciting flavors from nations near and far give meals that extra zing"
  • Light & Flavorful: "Clean, clear tastes that make the ingredients dance with flavor"

I've tried four different meals from Glorious One-Pot Meals so far: Rosemary Chicken Comfort Food, Hearty Polenta & Sausage, Honey & Spice Pork, and Santa Fe Chicken. Each was delicious, easy to make, and enjoyed by my picky teenagers - the real test of any cookbook!

Grab a Dutch oven and Elizabeth Yarnell's Glorious One-Pot Meals cookbook. Your family will love the meals, and you will love the ease of preparation AND clean up plus the knowledge that you're feeding your family healthy and delicious food.

About the Author: Elizabeth Yarnell is a home cook and Certified Nutritional Consultant who developed and patented her revolutionary method as a solution to her need to create healthy and simple meals for her family while successfully coping with multiple sclerosis. Elizabeth recognized that other busy cooks as well as those with limited stamina also need an easy and quick alternative for cooking healthy dinners. Through trial and error, Elizabeth created the Glorious One-Pot Meal method, combining the concepts of healthy, tasty, quick and easy all in one pot!
